Owees.........and yes, I know my camera sucks-

So I got a call from Nate and it went something like this,
"Hello?"
---------------------------
"Hey, I need you to bring me some band aids and super glue to work- and I need you to hurry cuz I'm bleedin' all over the place."
---------------------
"Okay, do you need anything else?- clean water? rags?"
------------------------------
"Yeah, I guess- bring some water"
------------------------------------------
"Okay, bye"
So I arrive at the job site and his knee is sliced down at least 1/4 of an inch. He had himself convinced that he would be able to super glue his knee back together.- Ha! Yeah right! So we went to the Urgent Care facility right outside our neighborhood to get it stitched up. I was so bummed I was without my camera. At one point, the nurse was giving him a tetanus shot in his arm while the doctor was injecting anesthetic into his knee at the same time. I'll admit it was nice to see HIM on the table in pain for once. An hour and 8 stitches later, he had me drop him back off at the job site.

That same day, Lilly bumped her head (you can see the bruise) and Megan scratched the crap out of her forehead. Band aids for everyone!

P.S. I would also like to take this time to recognize that my pictures, most of the time, pretty much suck. I know okay people! and do me a favor, next time you see my husband, tell him how much photographing your memories really mean- and how he should buy me a new camera. Thanks.

Family Time

We were able to attend stake conference with my parents because to was televised for the whole region. We heard from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf among others. One of the things he spoke about was our family's spiritual well being. It is important to have temporal and financial goals for our families but it is equally important to have spiritual goals for our families in order to be successful.
This weekend, Nana got Lilly a pink bat and some pink tennis balls to practice hitting with. Nate was tossing them to her in the living room (not really thinking she would hit one)- and she line drived one right over his head across the room. Then she hit one up against the wall too.- That's about when we decided the game needed to go outside.
Nate teaching Lilly her stance.--
Everyone came outside and played a little baseball game. Nate pitched me the ball telling me to hit the ball as hard as I could- so I did- and the ball missed Nate's balls by about two inches. It was sooo funny! Mostly because I don't think he thought I would hit it at all.

Junk in the trunk

Cows at the Barn

After lunch, Nate and I took Lil over to my Uncle Bob's farm to see the baby calves. Seeing the barn brought back so many memories of when I was a little girl chasing kittens and scaring cows until they would almost fall down. :)
This was the newest of all the babies.
Lilly would hold her hand out with some oats and the little calves would wrap their long sticky tongues around her little hand.

4 Months Old

Lilly and I took Meg to her 4 month checkup this past week. Her stats are as follows:
Weight: 14 pounds 6 ounces (75th percentile)
Height: 24 inches (50th percentile)
Head Circumfrance: 42 cm (75th percentile)
Chin Count: 3
Cute Factor: Off the charts

Meg was also subjected to 5 painful vaccination needles. Lilly sat at her head stroking her hair and telling her it would be okay. I love the way Lilly loves her little sister.

To Nana's House We Go

Papa and the girlies hangin out.
Lilly was so happy this weekend to be with her Nana. I haven't seen her this happy for awhile. She and Nana played and tickled and had some funny inside jokes going between the two of them. so cute!

"Let's go see the chicks!"

The girls and I went to Preston for the weekend and my mom's friend was kind enough to let our children come over to hold, pet, and drop her little itty bitty chicks. Thanks Jane.

Randy Pausche

I sure hope you were all aware and able to watch the primetime special on abc last night. It was entitled, "The Last Lecture". The story behind it is so touching and emotional. It personally made an impact on my life. I cannot wait to listen to the lecture in it's entirety online and read the book that is on book store shelves now. I encourage you to look into this- or maybe just go to this link and watch the lecture for yourself.

Things People May Not Know About Me- Part II

#2- I am not quick to trust anyone, and if you ever loose my trust, you may never get it back.- I am not quick to trust anyone. I do say what I think and feel but you may think I trust you when, really there are only a handful of people I truly trust to confide in, tell my feelings to, and accept feedback from.. I have been burned so many times by people who have either broken my trust, betrayed me, or out right lied concerning me. I can only think of one person who has lost and then completely regained a trusting friendship back with me. She is one of my best friends now.- (i'm not sure i have ever been this honest on a post before- consider yourself lucky) :)

Things People May Not Know About Me- Part I

#1- I am and always have been a 'daddy's girl'- I have the most amazing father and as I get older, I only gather more and more reasons to back it. I have always cherished my time with my dad. I remember 'Take your daughter to work day' and several 'Daddy Daughter Dances'. I have watched him give of himself in church callings, community leadership positions, and sometimes even to those who out right do not appreciate his service. I have never once heard him raise his voice toward my mother. I can only thank him for the values he and my mother instilled in me while raising me in the mission field- a strict obedience regarding church attendance, keeping the sabbath day holy, and a love and respect for the priesthood. My favorite thing to do with my dad (or my mom for that matter) is talking in the car- I can remember countless conversations in the car with them- talking things out, reminiscing, and especially- learning from their experience and wisdom.

Who asked who out first?- This is funny... actually we met up at a get together at a mutual friends house and Nate over heard some of the boys talking about me- interested in asking me out... he quickly asked me to go with him for a ride on his motorcycle.

Who proposed to who? Nate proposed to me on my 19th birthday which happen to be the same day he purchased our first house. We ate our favorite chinese food at the house that night and in my fortune cookie was the proposal...
