Baby Update

Lil and I went to the doctor yesterday. We heard the baby's heart, got weighed, and measured. The most interesting part was that I am measuring about a week bigger than I should be to have a Dec. 24 due date.-(I measured 28 weeks and 4 days when I should have been 27 weeks and 5 days) This was interesting because when I had that ultrasound, the tech said the baby was measuring big also. mmmm... if I continue measuring large (and I'll find out again in 2 weeks) this baby really could be here around the 17th.

67.5% Done! Wahoo!

13 weeks left to the day as of yesterday.
(I'm hoping to have the baby on Dec.21, the Friday before Christmas)
It's sad, I don't feel as chubby as I look in the picture, but maybe that's a good thing- keeping morale high an all.... or maybe it's a kick in the face to lay off the sweets?...
All in all things are well, setting aside the feelings of constant hunger (do think they would consider a pregnant woman for the lapband?), the increase in boobage (which doesn't look so big in the picture but believe you me, they are huge!), having my butt grow faster than my stomach (you would think there was a second child in there fer real), not being able to breathe when I lay down (I mean, come on, who needs to lay down and breathe at the same time right?), and I suppose I should list the increase in emotion... (that one's for Nate- thanks for talking me down off the water tower those couple huh.... dozen times.)- and that was meant in a non-suicidal kind of way by the way... :)

A Note to the Skeptical in-Laws:

THIS JUST IN!- It's a girl! It really is a GIRL!

That's right. Jen had her fourth and final ultrasound yesterday. And it's a girl for sure.
Lilly walked in there and told the tech,
"You gonna take a pictacha of Megan?, huh?"
Still on the look out for the middle name but we're pretty sure her name is
Megan ______ Merrill .
There would be no telling the big sister otherwise at this point and it is something Nate and I agree on. (although, I probably won't be monogramming anything just yet)
The tech said she weighs over 2 pounds and the due date calculated was Dec. 18- but my official due date will stick for Dec.24.

Diva Attitude, Toddler Tantrums, etc. etc.

The past couple of months or so, Lilly has started expressing her opinion concerning the absolute number one thing on MY list to have control over..... her clothing. So I tried giving her options, letting her choose between two different outfits... and it worked for a while, but the last week or so it's positive effect has worn off. Today was a new experience. I made the mistake of not giving her the choices... I forced the clothing onto her screaming, pissed off, thrashing on the floor body. She proceeded to take the pants off and cry even after they were off. I warned her not to fit or she would sit on her bed. So she was placed on her bed. After about 20 minutes of tantrum and refusing to put ANY pants on, she fell asleep in my arms. After an andequate nap, she woke up telling me she was cold. I told her to pick out some pants to wear so she wouldn't be cold.

~"Mom, I'm cold..."

"Go over and pick out some pants to wear and you won't be cold.."

~"No!"

"Well, what do you want then?"

~"No clothes mom. I don't want clothes!"

"Okay, I guess you'll be cold then...."

~ "I need a blanket mom."

I she walked around the better part of the afternoon in panties and a blanket wrapped around her body.... that is until she came to me with pink ballet flats, jeans a size too small, and an ill-fitting shirt,

~"Look! Look what I found mom!"

and so now the naked child is clothed, but looks like an orphan.... I can't believe this episode ate up the majority of the day... oh what I have to look forward to. I'm sure other mothers think i'm an idiot as I'm on my knees in Old Navy, asking Lilly what she likes and letting her have full reign in hopes it will ensure she'll wear it later.

My Baby's A Ballerina!

I was so excited to get Lilly into a dance class this year but it seems we will be waiting until next year to start up. She loves to flit around the house in her tulle skirt and 'spin' like 'in dance class' (which she has never been to..) She really looks so adorably delicious in this outfit I just had to share (i think the delicious comment has something to do with my insatiable appetite - but really, doesn't her skirt look like frosting?...)

We Miss Pay Today.

Lilly and I had the best time last week watching Paisley for a few days and we miss not having her here to entertain and feed. This was the only picture I took of our adventures last week. These two really are the sweetest little creatures. I couldn't have asked for better company.

Firearm Appreciation

Today we have al been busy rearranging things for when Paisley comes tomorrow. Lil and I will be babysitting her every week for a couple days. Nate helped set up the crib, I resurrected the high chair, saucer, and baby toys from being stored away, and Lilly helped Nate downstairs getting the basement finish work done. I also dove into my boxes of baby stuff today. I organized and reorganized until the closet was just so (a little nesting fever goin' on there maybe). As I was busy working, I came out into the living room to find the scene depicted in these photos. Nate helping Lilly to see through the scope of the "pretty gun". I couldn't decide if it looked "pretty scary" or "pretty cute" to see this going on... Maybe I've got a Calamity Jane on my hands and don't know it yet.

24 weeks and 5 days completed!

Only 14 weeks left!
The three girls of the house.
It has rained for two days now and Lilly insisted on wearing her "slippers" outside to play= a muddy mess.

HOO-RAH Jared!

Nate called in this bull opening day of archery season for his cousin Jared. The way Nate tells it, the sequence of events was perfect textbook (Better than any hunting show he has seen on the tele). Way to go guys!
6 points on one side and 7 on the other- this bull scored roughly 285+.
