Lou-Lou Puppy

The newest member in our family.
She is just like a newborn baby too- eats, plays a little, poops, pees, sleeps A LOT, and then she keeps us up with her crying all night long!
Lilly really seems to love her aside of hitting her, taking her toys away, teasing her, picking her up by her neck, a taking her own claim to the kennel.... jealousy, it's a bitch.. fer sure
Today Lilly didn't even acknowledge the pup until half way through the day. I can't wait to see what happens when the new intruder is a human baby...

TIME OUT!

Nate's ALASKA Trip!

These are the only pictures we were able to salvage from Nate's 'waterproof' camera :(
I'll definitely collaborate with the other wives and get some more pics though. This king salmon was one of the biggest Nate caught... he said it's probably about 50 lbs. His biggest was almost 60 and the tail would be touching the ground in a picture like this.
There's nothing sexier than a man in waders, his pelvis thrust out, holding an enormous, wet, fish-- wouldn't you agree? What a hottie!

It didn't ever get dark outside, and the fishing was so incredible, one night Nate fished until 5 in the morning before turning in.
This is one of their many camps on the bank of the river. They flew 120 miles into the mountains to a lake where they then loaded onto a raft and floated some 60 miles down the river, camping along the way.
While fishing one day, Nate came back up onto the bank to retieve a camera, and some 15 feet in front of him, a mama grizzly and her three cubs popped out of the brush! They saw quite a few black bears and grizzlies, one of which nibbled on Nate's fishing pole. He said they were friendly... maybe a little too friendly.

Nate and the boys had an awesome time and it sounds like this will be an every other year excursion for Nate at least.

If anyone likes salmon, halibut, or lean cod, give us a call.--we have plenty to share!
I'll try to track down some more pictures and post again.

Day 9

I made to day 9 of Nate being gone just fine. And with the help of some friends, it was actually enjoyable. um... who knew?! Annie lives just down the street and has a little girl Lilly's age, so we got together one day at the park for lunch and... I ran into another gal I haven't seen or talked to in a long while (Kelli) and we got together for lunch at her house for lunch. Her little girl Mya is just a little older than Lil but they seemed to get along well :) Lil also played with the neighbor girls one night while I got to chat with their mom, Erin. It seems there is more to life than just our family's and our few close friends. It seems I have a really hard time trusting other women to the point where I would really call us friends because I have been betrayed so many times. And I don't forgive or forget very easily at all. It seems life could be better with more people I trust in it so that's something I'll be working on- and of course, Nate will keep his title as 'best friend'. This time away was probably over all for the better but I don't think I'll allow it again. He comes home tomorrow and I can't wait to spend the day with him and Lilly.

My sweet little girl

Doing the "princess" thing.... again....
Finger painting on Sunday
Painting is one of Lilly's favorite things to do. If I need to get some things done around the house, and need to keep her busy for a while, this is the best option. She told me she was painting 'her dad'. I'm guessing she meant something for her dad... what a sweetheart.
---------------------------------------------------------------
This morning she woke up in a panic to 'go ta church and see friends'. And we did. She has become pals with a couple of the girls in nursery, and it's time she started having some little girlfriends to play with. We have a playdate for this week... we'll see how it goes. She really enjoys nursery and knows all the songs, sings the loudest, and loves to answer questions about Jesus during the lesson. I am happy as can be to be in the nursery with her.
--------------------------------------------------------------
At home this afternoon, she was playing and singing along with her MP3 player... and walked up to me (I was lying on the couch) and said so sweetly, 'Da baby listen to da music mom'-- and continued to pull up my shirt and hold the music to my belly. She stood there with this expression on her face, just staring at my stomach, almost like she could see the baby. It just melted my heart. I'm so blessed.

A Very Long Day

Yesterday, Lilly and I drove Nate to Idaho Falls to the airport to see him off to Alaska. Then we proceeded to drive and hour and 45 minutes to Preston to see my parents before they left for a week. We ate my dad's homemade fried chicken (to which no other chicken- prepared any other way compares (yeah, seriously)), mashed potatoes, amazing gravy, and fresh farm corn. (Thanks dad!) Then we enjoyed sparklers and what appeared to be a variety of fireworks- but seemed to all look the same... that certainly didnt matter to Lil though. She loved every second. I assisted my dad in picking out his wardrobe to go hang with their friends in Branson and finally got into bed about 11:30. What seemed like 5 minutes later, the alarm woke me at 4:30a.m. to take my parents to the airport in salt lake (2 hours away), and since then, we've had lots of fun hanging out today, filling up the pools, and such but, without having Nate to call, or to have him call me... and especially knowing I can't call him makes me mostly sad. It's amazing how slow time goes by without your bestest friend. And let's not forget... it's only the end of day 1..... out of 10. I talked to him about this time last night when they were switching planes. Hopefully I get a little chat tonight before they head off into the wilderness....

UPDATE!!!--- I heard from lover boy and he had a great time halibut fishing in the ocean. He seemed a little sleep deprived and he left me a message on my cell phone so I can hear his voice all week long....but we'll talk again in the morning before they head for the river...

P.S. Talked to him this morning and it made me feel so good... I just love that guy!

Pay Came to Play!

I drove to Downey (30 min. away) to pick Paisley up and watch her today at my house. On the way home, Lilly sat hunched over the side of her carseat, peering at "Pay-Pay", and sang her songs all the way home! (songs including, ABCs, Popcorn Popping, Twinkle Twinkle, and she even counted all the way to 15 for Paisley several times.) Cuddled up on the couch to watch 'Ariel'
It was definitely different having a second child all day-- a good little taste of what I have to look forward to...which would be.... getting absolutely NOTHING done that I needed to get done! Not even 1 load of laundry was completely finished... I did tumble a certain load upwards of 35 times though...those girls seemed to need something every moment.... and I loved every moment.
Lilly in her 'tard' (leotard), and tutu skirt... constantly telling me, "Mom!, I goin ta dance class, okay?!"-- (love it!)

Hisce Hot Springs Camping

This last weekend, we loaded up the truck, hitched the trailer, and headed off to Hisce, where we, ate, played,
napped in the trailer,
and tried out the local water attractions that include an awesome slide,
a pretty blue pool,
and Grandpas on hand to teach the back float.... or not so much...
----------------------------------------------------
Lilly was a fish that didn't know how to swim at the pool. Nate couldn't keep ahold of her squirming and kicking to get off on her own (which is where the pink boat comes in handy). She absolutely loved it. And I'll tell you what I like... my new trailer!!! That's right! Couch, Bed, Toilet, Shower/Tub, stovetop, oven, microwave, A/C, TV/DVD, beautiful colors, and a big ol' awning on the side to keep us in the shade all day! I cannot tell you how nice it is to wake up camping at 7:00, turn on Dora for Lilly, throw some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in the oven, empty my bladder (without having to put on shoes), and crawl back into bed! Oh baby! ....and yet, I'm sure we were the smallest, least pimped out 'outfit' on the grounds.... apparently, after a couple years, you start upgrading... :)
