Memorial Weekend continued...

When we got home from camping, the dog was immediately bathed
and Miss Lilly was more than happy to help.
We traveled down to Preston to visit grave sites but it rained all day. Nate and I went to see Ironman that evening before he left. The girls and I stayed to hang out and help Nana do some organizing and fueng shuay (spelling is wrong on that I'm sure which is probably considered 'bad' fueng shuay). Paisley brought her bunny over one night and Lilly really loved it.
We played out in the yard and pitched some tents to 'slummer party' in.
Lilly and Paisley play together so well and when we were ready to leave, Lilly cried because Pay wasn't coming home with us.

Camping Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend 2008 : Mission Campout
Nate brought two fourwheelers and the kids loved the muddy rides through the creek.
The girls got just as if not more dirty than the boys.
Saturday was rainy and cold- a perfect combination for napping in a warm trailer with the sound of rain pattering all around you.
The first night Meg and I hung out in the trailer - (I was pretty sick and she kept me company)
I had to include this picture of Boden being force fed by Cory- too funny.

Between Cliff dancing, Nate chasing Leslie with earthworms, Cory siphining water from the creek, and all the campfire stories being told, we had some good laughs- and really, that's what it's all about.

Cute Lilly Pics

She picked these "flowers" for me, but was quick to say that SHE would hold them FOR me...
My mom has a picture of me just like this one- reading and relaxing....
We helped my mom in her classroom and Lilly loved the that everything was her size, especially being able to "click" the computer all by herself.
Lilly helped by playing cubic blocks with Paisley
When we were done, Nana was so excited to show Lilly the awesome slide tower they have at her school, I warned her Lilly would be chicken.... and she was.

Big 5-5 Celebration!

The girls and I went on down to Preston for the birthday festivities which included but wasn't limited to, playing with Pay in the yard,
Ring around the rosies til Nana threw up,
mowing the 'mistress',
baking and sprinkling cupcakes with love,
and eating bratwursts outside.

Happy Birthday Dad/ Papa

Mother's Day- '08

These two darlings make me so proud as a mother. Not wanting to toot my own horn, buutttt I look at them and have an sense of accomplishment. I truly love tending to their every whimper and whine. I love knowing what they want even when they cannot tell me or may not even know themselves. At times, my job seems monotonous or maybe even lonely at times, but never do I feel unaccomplished. I relish in the thought of being an expert at what I do- I suppose I should be, considering I work 24 hours (and I do mean EVERY hour) 7 days a week.
It's hard to come up with the perfect adjective to describe my mom.- She does so much for everyone in her life and never gets enough credit for it. She is one of the few people I can say without doubt has my best interest at heart when giving me advice or criticism. I love her dearly and am so grateful for the mothering I receive from her, but since I have become a mother myself, I have even more enjoyed the friendship between us. I love you mom!
Mother's Day BBQ at the Aplingtons
Up to their crazy Merrill family antics-- just waiting for someone to get hurt....
Nate on Zach's shoulders (who is standing on stairs), Cliff holding Nate up by his belt loop, Stacy double handing Nate's leg from below, and to top it off, Heath is standing on the oldest ladder I've ever seen- and it wasn't even all the way pulled open (not by far)! A variation of this scene continued for 20 minutes or so until the light was installed safely. Thank goodness!
